In an elective service, what is waiting list and non-waiting list?
Most activity in an elective service is usually waiting-list, but you may also wish to include some activity that is non-waiting list (e.g. planned / repeat activity, which in England has Admission Method = 13). Non-waiting list activity should be counted in the “Non-waiting list activity in past period” (PastNonWLActiv) field.
Non-waiting list patients should be excluded from any field that is intended only for waiting-list-related data, such as:
Waiting list activity in past period (PastWLActiv)
Non-waiting list activity in past period (PastNonWLActiv)
Additions to waiting list in past period (PastAdd)
Removals in past period (PastRemov)
List size at start of past period (PastWLStart)
List size at end of past period (PastWLEnd)
List size at start of future period (FutWLStart)
Future target list size (TgtWL)
